Substitute Cleaners

Schenevus Central School District has the following opening available for the 2024-2025 school year: -Substitute Cleaners for both 1st Shift (days) and 2nd Shift (nights). A School Substitute Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment in school facilities when regular custodial staff are unavailable. Key duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. The Substitute Cleaner ensures all surfaces are disinfected, trash is emptied, and supplies are replenished as needed. This role may also involve light maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs or unclogging drains, and ensuring all cleaning equipment is properly maintained. The Substitute Cleaner works under the supervision of the head custodian or school administration to ensure cleaning standards are met and health protocols are followed. Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently are essential. No formal education is required, but prior experience in custodial work or cleaning is preferred. Flexibility to work on short notice is crucial for this role.
