Job Description:
This position requires both advanced mechanic skills (ASE Certified) and solid administration skills. Knowledge of hydraulics, diesel generators, utility trucks and equipment. This position is also responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks.
Auto Mechanic: Repairs hydraulic, gasoline powered, & related mechanical equipment; diagnoses faulty operation; may disassemble & overhaul engines, transmissions, differentials & other assemblies. Replaces broken or worn parts; inspects & tests equipment; keeps work record & orders parts. Performs skilled work of moderate difficulty in repairing, maintaining & rebuilding automotive & other light equipment. Diagnoses, repairs & maintains various systems in the equipment fleet; performs various preventive maintenance functions. Possesses knowledge of methods, practices, materials, instruments & tools used in equipment maintenance & safety practices. Minimum three years related experience. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of all PUE's vehicle & equipment fleet. Develops & maintains a detailed ‘Vehicle & Equipment Log’ with photos & updates at least annually. Works closely with Assistant General Manager to develop a ‘Vehicle & Equipment Plan’, which includes the designated use of vehicles, assignment of vehicles to personnel, & a vehicle & equipment replacement strategy. Performs minor & major repair work on vehicles & equipment (including hydraulic equipment). Further, arranges for annual certification of equipment hydraulics as required. Other duties as assigned.
Generator: Responsible for all aspects of maintaining compliance regarding PUE's Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) emissions permit. This permit allows the operation of the Powell Generators. This includes all activities such as completing required emissions testing, completing the annual Emissions Inventory Report, & the Semi-annual Compliance Report. In addition, any & all activities, tasks, details, inspections required to maintain compliance & renewal with this permit as required by ADEQ. This position duty also maintains the generators in solid mechanical & electrical condition, fuel, & urea levels & any other requirement such that the units are available for reliable dispatch.
Building Maintenance: This position is also responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc., assisting with the preventive maintenance & facility repair. Performs work of considerable difficulty in the operation, maintenance & repair of buildings & facilities. Performs hands-on work on requirements for communications & control systems, heating, ventilation, water supply & related pipe systems; inspects facilities, buildings & systems to determine work required; establishes cyclic preventative maintenance work; prepares reports & performs related administrative duties. Possesses knowledge of methods, practices, tools & materials used in a variety of building & utility systems maintenance; occupational hazards & required preventative measures; federal, state & local codes applicable to work performed.
Facilities Maintenance Worker: Performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair & maintenance of buildings, facilities & grounds. Performs a variety of construction & maintenance work including air conditioning, carpentry, heating, electrical, plumbing, & painting. Possesses considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, equipment, tools & materials used in a variety of construction trades; maintenance & repair, grounds care; occupational hazards & preventative measures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Within the last ten years, five years' experience and/or training in vehicle/construction equipment repair & maintenance shop, including one year in a lead position; OR any combination of education, training & experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Requirements:
Medical examination to determine physical & mental ability to perform the work required along with mandatory drug testing. All original appointments shall be tentative & subject to a 6-month probationary period. Must have and maintain AZ Class A Commercial Driver's License.
