Cutting Operator, Online Large Format
 
The Cutting Operator, Online Large Format working the machines in the Cutting production area is responsible for controlling the device to ensure the blades of the machine move properly in the creation of various shapes cut from paper stock, vinyl and other types of laminated or non-laminated material.  The operator will be responsible for executing upon the design of the shapes in accordance with the design specifications received as part of the work order.  The machine operator is also responsible for understanding how best to utilize the machine with the materials being utilized to ensure the tools get the best results.
 
Job Duties:
  • Review the design specifications and set-up the machine to follow the design within the parameters required by the job and material.
  • Log into Pace system, recording the project work time, and complete the work within the estimated time frames ensuring the work meets TBG’s quality standards.
  • Check inventory levels of materials needed, bits, blades, routing mats, and other materials for the machine and assigned jobs. 
  • Communicate effectively with production leads for counsel or advice on completing jobs to ensure jobs are on schedule and have been received appropriately.  
  • Create efficiencies by ensuring cut methods are aligned. 
  • Apply time management and self-management skills to plan, coordinate, and manage work.
  • Maintain the machine to reduce down-time and ensure it is in solid working order.
  • Follow all TBG safety standards and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Is efficient at multitasking, ensuring multiple complicated projects are being supported
  • Strong attention to detail and quality with high level of accuracy
  • Quickly adapt to changing priorities; ability to work in a fast paced environment
Experience Required:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment for the past 2-3 years preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.  Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization.
  • Move around the plant and office areas repeatedly throughout the day.

Shift hours:  M-F 6:45 am – 3:15 pm
Starting wage or wage range:  $19.00 per hour
